We're inspired by other Toronto bloggers who are posting their gorgeous animal sketches from visits to the Royal Winter Fair. See Nick Sung and Smook for example.
But when ya can't get to the Royal... ya gotta just draw what's around!
and this last one is our girl Kiki at her punky-est... wanting me to stop drawing and PAY ATTENTION! :

Soooo cute!! talented happy family!! Nice drawings!
Arna! I especially love the top sketch! Was that a drawing of both of your cats or a study of one of them in different poses? I love the spontaneity of your line! And again, thanks for the kind mention.
Beautiful drawings! Love the design on the last post.....
They're purrrfrect! Sorry bad pun.
Heheh.. I love that second one with the cat all stretched out.. My cats do that too... and that looks just like one of my cats.. Damn.. Now i need to go do some animal drawing!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Wow! The sketches of your cats are absolutely beautiful.
Alina, Thanks for the sweet comment! If you think that these cats are always happy think again- I'll have to post a few 'cat's fighting' sketches another day...
Mike, Thanks for the kind comments and the inspiration! The top drawing is of our two cats, one light and one dark in their usual yinyang symbol sleeping pose.
Steve, thanks! They're our 'mewses'. Pun intended.
Jason C., Justin, Thanks for visiting! Your kind comments are much appreciated. We'll visit your blogs some more and also Jason's daughter's blog! Cute kid and cute family!
HA HA HA--
I like that last one-is Kiki about to smoke a cigarette?
Great drawings Arna! I like the tensions in the second one; the cat feels all crinkled. Thanks for mentioning me guys!
Nick
Wow these are great sketches!
=)
Hi Nick! Thanks! I very much appreciate your feedback. We love the inspired animal sketches on your blog. Also we meant to put a comment on your recent kids book post to mention another artist FIEP WESTERDORP, who you may like...
That middle sketch is Kiki again, a cat with plenty of coiled tension- even when she's stretched out relaxed. The last one I used my left hand (I'm normally a righty)and that's supposed to be an eraser stick, but it does look more like a ciggy.
Eren! Very happy to see your comments! Thanks, and congrats on the Character Design Blog feature. We really love your work!
Wow! These are magnificient drawings, elegant and graceful.
Wow! Thanks Matt. The animals I was drawing are indeed elegant and graceful and bring that out in the sketches.
Cats are sweet. I love these doodles.
