High hopes...

Here's a kid waiting for something special. Maybe a letter from Grandma, or a decoder ring...

Ah, the sweet feeling of waiting for something in the post when you're a child! Only good stuff back then, no bills or flyers! God bless the internet for giving me a chance to order parcels from round the world, letting me relive that giddy wait on a daily basis!

Crackin stuff guys!

"o.K! O.K!" I admit it...
I too love getting mail.

I have a mailbox of the same model you drew.
And after 8 years in the sun, the picture of the cows finally faded off. Halleluiah!
And now it's just black.
...and yes, I still love getting mail.

Justin, Nik, Enzo, Thanks you guys for stopping by and leaving these swell comments. I still love the anticipation not knowing when it will come, or what you'll find, then it finally arrives and you tear open the package.

Justin~ We'll be looking forward to receiving that beautiful book of yours in the mail soon.

Nik, We are pleased to make your aquaintance. Your blog is a wonder of solid zombie goodness~ people, go there now and check it out!

Enzo~ you're on a really creative roll! Keep those sweet drawings coming.

This kid looks like Mogley from Jungle Book, isn't it?

This isn't Mowgli, though I can see why you see some similarities. The kid is just that~ a kid from my doodle.

Please don't leave us adverts.

Oooh that's sweet!! People don't really send postal mail much these days!! :) Everything is mostly e-mail. Postal mail really becomes something very special! :)

Wonderful sketch as usual, Arna! This kid's eager anticipation when opening the mailbox reminds me of my son when he's checking for his Dig magazine's arrival. :)

These drawings are fab, what a wonderful style you guys have. You got up to Ottowa for the film/animation development festival? Not sure when it is but I was asked to attend, sounded interesting...
