20,000 and counting...

Sometime in the last 24 hours the counter on this blog clicked past 20,000 page loads. That's so cool! Thanks again to all the visitors to our blog, you who leave great comments and share stuff with us.

Earlier this week we went for a long walk in the Ossington and Queen Street neighbourhood of Toronto. Here are a few shots John took of a secondhand storefront window:

Is that Peter Pan?

Arna & John, I enjoy your blog and your artworks. Most of all, I like how your personalities come through. :)

Hi there, Elliot! We think that this mannequin may have been designed around the same time as the Peter Pan movie came out in 1953-ish. It definately has that look. Someone has probably re-painted the eyebrows and added wacky eyebrow makeup later. My mum used to take us kids to buy clothes at a store called 'Young Canada' and I think they had mannequins like this in the window. Creepy.

platitudinal, Thanks! That's a neato name you gave your self. Nice sketches on your blog. Is that your husband reading to your son, then falling asleep?

If Beanie grew up and explored his shadow side this is exactly where he would end up!

Tony, thanks for visiting. That's a really interesting blog you have there! We'll add you to our links.

Hi Clive. Yeah, wasn't Creepy the eigth dwarf?

Hiya Warren. Thanks for stopping in! Bobby was plasticised and put on display in this window as part of BODYWORLDS 3.

Hobo, Yeah, he does have a Beany-esque quality, but why is he wearing Rip Taylor's hairpiece? Either that or someone frosted his head with Duncan Hines icing. Check out Rip Taylors' site here: http://www.riptaylor.com/main.html
