Jacques Le But...

In honour of NHL season starting up again, here are a couple of sketches of a shinpad-wearing, hockey stick-wielding superhero from the Great White North, eh! John drew these in black prismacolour earlier this year while working up another series idea.

And while we're on the theme of hockey players, be sure to check out Mr. Dot's exquisite (and very funny) painting here.

These are great John! I love that you replaced the traditional C for the captaincy with 'eh'! Great!

Thanks aboot the mention, eh! You both have always been generous! Thanks!

I guess your sketch is the before he gets hit in the face with the puck and mine is the after shot, huh? I think he may need a full visor.......the debate continues......

Glad you like them, Mike! Actually, I forgot to mention in the post that Jacques is a sidekick to another hero so, in a way he's the 'assistant captain.' Hence the 'eh/A!' JVB

Thanks for your kind remarks all!
STEVE - Maybe I will put up Jacque's crimefighting partner eventually. Anyway, there are plenty of superhero/hockey puns to explore with this one!
EREN - Yes, I'm glad that hockey's back, too! Do you have a favorite team?
STEF - I saw the Russian National team play in Amsterdam back in 1979. That was pretty exciting! If you make it to Canada during the winter months (and why would ANYONE do that?), let us know and we'll try to get you to a Canadian hockey game! Do you like expensive, watery beer?
ULI - I think you mean "Le But kicks Le Butt!" :-)
