While flipping through some older material earlier today, I found a few designs from a feature film project John and I both worked on years ago. These are sketches I did originally in pencil and xeroxed to 'lock in' the line, so's I could render some tone with marker. These days I might just scan and do the tone with photoshop, but I still like to work with a pantone warm grey.

I can't believe it was 12 years ago already! Does John remember looking through my portfolio at the time? I must have been 6 months removed from college at the time......

Whoa, these are so cool, Arna! Beautiful work. I also love the idea of the fun house mirror distorting the character.
Arna, those sketches are beautiful, and they certainly contain your wonderful imagination. I love looking at the "kitchet gadgets" and the food on the table. So many fantastic details!

I noticed that there will be a panel on the 'merchandising miracle' of Ruby Gloom in the Ottawa Fest. Funny, I thought they did that same treatment with the Care Bears, Rescue Heroes, et. all.
Doesn't change the fact that the artwork I saw outside of Robin's office last week looks really good! Should be a fun show.

Warren, Yup~ Thief. And yes, it might be interesting to hear what folks have to say about merchandising in regards to Ruby. I'm still waiting to see what sort of stuff gets produced merch-wise. The show itself however, will look fabulous!! You going to Ottawa? If so we should hook up when we're there.
