Gubby Csacky, my beloved boss and mentor at Nelvanarama used to hang out at Hemmingways too, in the 80's; I dare say you guys also remember him well. He would have drunk something smooth and sophisticated and chinkled the ice in the glass as he peered over the rim. I can almost see him sauntering by. Nice photos guys.
Alina, Thank you. Yorkville is a small chi-chi shopping district in downtown Toronto. It was a haven for hippies, draft dodgers, and alternative music in the 60s. There was a coffee house called The Riverboat, on Yorkville avenue, where musicians like Joni Mitchell and Neil Young played. Now it's all pretty much stores, coffee houses and some upscale restaurants.
Justin, Thanks muchly. As you probably know, Canada is not all urban. This is a small part of the city called Toronto. Outside the city there are forests of tract housing developments that go on and on and have eaten all the wonderful rich farmland that used to surround the city. So Canada CAN be cool, but a big part of Canada is not so cool.
SuperFreak, Well, that's real neat. I always wanted to work at the ROM but never did. Sounds like a great job.

Lee-Roy, The building is pretty easy to spot. It looms over a parking lot that you cannot see in this photo. I cropped the top out of the picture to make it look more interesting.

Cool photos! Bloor-Yorkville rocks. Drank beer at Hemingway's many times, walked the area many times. I used to work at the ROM!
